David R. Walsh is an associate in the Firm’s Boston, MA and Providence, RI offices.  His varied practice includes product liability, construction defect and injury, professional liability, insurance coverage and indemnification, employment discrimination, bad faith insurance claims as well as catastrophic personal injury.

Prior to Bonner Kiernan, Mr. Walsh was employed at a regional insurance defense firm as well as at the staff legal office of Zurich North America Insurance Company.  Mr. Walsh began his career as an assistant district attorney with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston prosecuting hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases.  During his time as an assistant district attorney, he tried more than 20 jury trials to verdict, as well as dozens of bench trials.  He was also recognized by the Insurance Fraud Bureau of Massachusetts for successful prosecution of fraudulent insurance claims.  In civil practice, he has tried numerous jury trials and has also been successful in numerous dispositive motions, including obtaining defense costs from the plaintiff’s employer, a subcontractor, based upon the plaintiff’s comparative negligence. 

Mr. Walsh is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  He is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association. 

Mr. Walsh received his B.A. in Economics cum laude from University of Massachusetts, in 1995, and he received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, in 2007 with a concentration in health and biomedical law.  During law school, he was Production Editor for the Journal of Health & Biomedical Law and was a quarter finalist in the Tom C. Clark Appellate Advocacy Competition.
