Mr. Smith’s practice is concentrated on civil litigation. Mr. Smith’s civil work focuses primarily on commercial litigation with an emphasis on breach of contract, fraud, and violations of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act and Fair Labor Standards Act, but he also has extensive experience with residential and commercial landlord-tenant disputes, and residential and commercial construction matters. He has also served as lead counsel for administrative hearings at the county and state level, including the Virginia Employment Commission, Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Prince William County Police Department.

Mr. Smith has also handled criminal and traffic cases involving possession of marijuana, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and serious felony charges in federal and state courts throughout Northern Virginia. Mr. Smith is extremely experienced in criminal law at both the General District Court and Circuit Court level.

Mr. Smith also has a corporate practice in which he analyzes, reviews, and negotiates contracts, residential and commercial leases, and other corporate agreements on behalf of corporate clients.

Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004 with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs. In May 2007, he graduated cum laude from Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Marquette Sports Law Review and active with the Marquette University Legal Clinic and Student Bar Association.

He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the District of Columbia, the State of Georgia, and the State of Wisconsin (inactive) and has been practicing since March 2008.

He was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2017.
