Elyse Giuffra is a defense litigation attorney for the firm's New Jersey and New York offices who handles a wide range of matters in the areas of general liability, including property damage, personal injury, premises liability, construction/NY Labor Law and automobile claims. Ms. Giuffra works with insurance companies and various types of clients such as property owners, large commercial and retail stores, safety consultants and contractors. She participates in all stages of litigation, from the initial case and claims evaluations, conducting depositions, drafting and orally arguing motions and appeals, and conducting legal research. She also has experience in a variety of premises liability matters for retail clients, automobile defense litigation and other personal injury matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Giuffra worked as a managing paralegal for eight years and as an Associate at full-service defense litigation firms. She also participated in the Legislative Advocacy Clinic in conjunction with the New York Civil Liberties Union while in law school, where she provided pro bono services to NYCLU and other affiliates in developing and implementing a legislative advocacy campaign to raise the age of criminal responsibility in New York State.
Ms. Giuffra received her J.D. from New York Law School (cum laude), and graduated with dual degrees in Paralegal Studies and Communication Studies from Montclair State University.
