|Bonner Kiernan Attorneys Lockett & King Obtain Defense Verdict|
Mark Lockett and Sheila King obtained a defense verdict in the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas located in Harrisburg, Pa. on behalf of the owner of a franchise quick service restaurant which has a presence nationwide. Plaintiff claimed that she experienced a permanent injury of her right thumb and wrist required surgery when her heal got caught in the expansion joint between the sidewalk and curb. The focus of the defense was plaintiffs' inability to identify any defect in the sidewalk that caused her fall and the lack of a nexus between her surgery and the fall. The jury agreed and returned a verdict within a half hour of receiving the case. Plaintiffs did not appeal the verdict.
